Knee Flexion Roll & Glide

Position of the therapist:

  • Standing at the short edge of the bench

Position of the patient:

  • Sitting position on the bench
  • Towel underneath femur
  • Tibia hanging freely

Hand placement:

  • Ipsilateral hand grabs tibia distally
  • Contralateral hand on tibial plateau

Direction:

  • Roll into dorsal direction (into flexion)
  • Glide into dorsal and increasingly proximal direction

 

90°- maximal flexion

Position of the therapist:

  • Standing at the long edge of the bench on the side to be treated

Position of the patient:

  • Prone lying position
  • Hip in slight flexion (relaxing the rectus femoris)

Hand placement:

  • Ipsilateral hand grabs tibia distally
  • Contralateral hand on tibial plateau

Direction:

  • Roll and glide into proximal and increasingly ventral direction
