60° Flexion – Hyperextension
Position of the therapist:
- Standing medial to the leg to be examined/treated
Position of the patient:
- Prone lying position
- Femur fixated on the bench
- Tibia and patella hanging freely over the edge of the bench
- Other leg supported by stool
Hand placement:
- Ipsilateral hand grabs tibia distally
- Contralateral hand on proximal tibia dorsally
Direction:
- Roll into ventral direction (into extension)
- Glide into ventral and decreasingly proximal direction
0° – Hyperextension
Position of the therapist:
- Standing at the long edge of the bench on the side to be treated
Position of the patient:
- Supine lying position
- Sandbag under proximal tibia
Hand placement:
- Ipsilateral hand grabs tibia medially above the ankle
- Contralateral hand on distal femur
Direction:
- Roll into ventral direction (into extension)
- Glide into dorsal direction (via femur)
