Position of the therapist:
- Standing at the long edge of the bench on the side to be manipulated
Position of the patient:
- Bench in lowest position
- Supine lying position
- Hip flexed to 60°
- Knee flexed in varying degrees from 90° to maximal flexion
- Leg fixated by the therapist sitting on the patient’s foot
Hand placement:
- Base of the palm of the contralateral hand placed against the base of the patella
- Ipsilateral hand fixates the other hand
Direction of the manipulation:
- Ventrodistal direction along axis of the therapist’s forearm
