Line of Lisfranc

Position of the therapist:

  • Standing at the long edge of the bench on the side to be examined/treated

Position of the patient:

  • Prone lying position
  • Knee flexed to 90°

Hand placement:

  • For Pronation:
    • Ipsilateral hand on cuboid and cuneiform so that the thumb fixates the bones from plantar
    • Other fingers placed dorsally on the foot
    • Contralateral hand grabs metatarsals in the same fashion
  • For Supination:
    • Moving hand switched around

Direction:

  • Pronation and/or supination
