Cuboid Reposition Manipulation

Position of the therapist:

  • Sitting medial to the foot to be treated

Position of the patient:

  • Supine lying position
  • Leg extended and foot hanging over the short edge of the bench

Hand placement:

  • Contralateral hypothenar eminence on the plantar and lateral aspect of the cuboid
  • Hypothenar aspect of the other hand placed dorsally and medially on the cuboid
  • Hands folded together
  • Forearms form a straight line

Impuls:

  • Patient is asked to dorsiflex the foot
  • Therapist squeezes hands together and adds pronation torgue
  • Patient relaxes and therapist adds a pronation swing to conduct the manipulation
