Tinel’s Sign at the Wrist

Execution:

  1. Patient is in sitting with the dorsum of the hand on the table
  2. The examiner taps on the location of the median nerve at the wrist with two fingers
  3. Recommended by some authors: Tapping along the whole distribution of the median nerve from the index finger to the medial forearm

 

Positive Outcome: Tingling in the thumb, index finger, middle finger and/or medial half of the ring finger
