Execution:
- Patient is in sitting position
- Position 1: Patient’s shoulder is in 90° of abduction, external rotation and no more than 45° of elbow flexion and the examiner palpates the radial pulse
- Position 2: Patient’s shoulder is in full abduction and external rotation and the examiner palpates the radial pulse
- Both positions are held for 1 minute
Positive Outcome: Reproduction of patient’s familiar symptoms or abolition of the radial pulse
