Dynamic Labral Shear Test

Execution:

  1. The patient is standing
  2. The examiner stands behind the patient and holds the patient’s arm at the wrist with one hand, while the other hand applies an anteriorly directed force on the humerus near the joint line
  3. The examiner then elevates the patient’s arm from about 90° to around 150°

 

Positive Outcome: Patient reports pain or the examiner feels a click in the patient’s posterior joint line
