- The patient is standing with the examiner standing behind the affected shoulder
- The examiner manually palpates along the course of the extraarticular long head of the biceps tendon with the arm in neutral
- The examiner internally and externally rotates the arm during palpation to confirm the location of pain to the bicipital tunnel
Positive Outcome: The patient reports tenderness upon palpation of the long head of the biceps
