Miniaci Test | Posterior Instability

Execution:

  1. Patient is in sitting position
  2. The patient’s shoulder is brought into adduction, 70-90° of flexion and internal rotation, while you give a posteriorly directed force through the humerus
  3. The other hand palpates the anterior and posterior joint line, while stabilizing the clavicle and scapula
  4. The patient’s shoulder is moved into horizontal abduction and external rotation

Positive Outcome: A clunk is felt during the movement, which indicates relocation of the humeral head after posterior subluxation
