Gagey Test | Inferior Instability

Execution:

  1. Patient is in upright sitting position
  2. The examiner stabilizes the patient’s shoulder girdle on the clavicle and scapula to prevent shoulder elevation
  3. The examiner passively moves the patient’s arm into end-range shoulder abduction

 

Positive Outcome: Passive glenohumeral abduction exceeds 105°, which is indicative of laxity of the inferior glenohumeral ligament
