Drop Arm Sign | Supraspinatus + Infraspinatus

Execution:

  1. Patient is in standing position
  2. The patient’s arm is brought into 90° of abduction and external rotation passively
  3. The examiner asks the patient to hold this position actively and removes the supporting hand

 

Positive Outcome: Patient is unable to hold this position and the arm falls downward. Some authors consider the test to be positive with a drop ≥ 5°
