Stenvers Test III: Scapular Depression

Execution:

  1. The patient is in sitting position with a straight back
  2. The examiner palpates the inferior angle of the scapula
  3. The patient is asked to actively flex the shoulder maximally

Positive Outcome: The scapula does not depress from 170° until full anteflexion, which occurs in the normal healthy scapula. (about 1cm)
