Stenvers Test II: Clavicular Rotation

Execution:

  1. The patient is in sitting position with a straight back
  2. The examiner places their middle finger on top and behind of the clavicle
  3. Passively bring the patient’s shoulder into full flexion and palpate the movement of the clavicle

Positive Outcome: Clavicle deviates from the normal movement during anteflexion, which is elevation and forward rotation until at about 45° of flexion and moves downwards and makes a posterior rotation from 45° on.
