Execution (for the right SIJ):
- The patient is in prone lying position with a pillar/sandbag under the patient’s anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS) that you want to examine
- The examiner is standing on the contralateral side and places the hypothenar of the right hand on the patient’s SIJ in the quadrant 2 and with the left hand on top
- The examiner then applies a force in ventrocranial and slight lateral direction and assessed the end-feel
Positive Outcome: The test is positive in case of pain provocation and/or changed end-feel (compared to the other side)
