Execution:
- Patient is prone lying position and the examiner is standing on the affected side
- The examiner places the base of their hand (fingers pointing in cranial direction) on the spinous process S2
- Then the examiner applies 3-6 higher velocity thrusts with gradually increasing pressure in vertical direction
Positive Outcome: Patient’s familiar pain (usually in the buttock, lower lumbar spine, posterolateral thigh and groin) is reproduced
