Execution:
- Patient is in supine lying position with the hip in 45° and the knee in 90° of flexion. The examiner may fixate this position by sitting on the patient’s forefoot
- The examiner then asks the patient to try to move the foot forward on the bench against the examiner’s resistance
- Optional: In a second part of this test, the patient contracts the hamstrings against resistance to accentuate the posterior sag
Positive Outcome: In case of a torn PCL, there will be a posterior sag of the tibia before the quadriceps contraction. With the quadriceps contraction, the tibia will translate anteriorly
