Execution:
- The patient is standing with fully extended knees and both feet 30-40 centimeters apart. The patient may hold on to an object fo stability
- To detect a medial meniscus tear the patient is asked to maximally squat with both legs in maximal external rotation
- For the lateral meniscus both legs are brought into maximal internal rotation and a squat is performed as low as possible
Positive Outcome: Pain and/or a (sometimes audible) click is felt by the patient at the related site of the joint line
