Bounce Home Test

Execution:

  1. Patient is in supine lying position
  2. The examiner cups the patient’s foot at the heel and completely flexes the patient’s knee
  3. The examiner then moves the patient’s heel distally which leads to passive extension of the knee

Positive Outcome: Incomplete extension and/or a a rubbery end-feel with joint line pain can indicate a meniscus tear.
Hard end-feels might indicate intra-articular fragments such as loose bodies.
