Noble Compression Test / Noble’s Test

Execution:

  1. Patient is in supine position with the knee flexed to 90°
  2. The examiner applies pressure on the lateral epicondyle or 1-2 cm proximal to it with his thumb
  3. The examiner passively extends the patient’s knee while maintaining the pressure with his thumbs
  4. An alternative to the supine position is with the patient in sitting position and active knee extension by the patient
  5. A second alternative is to have your patient in a lunge position and have him get up whilst applying abovementioned pressure

Positive Outcome: Patients complaints of severe pain over the lateral epicondyle at around 30° of knee flexion
