Dejour Test

Execution:

  1. Patient is in supine lying position
  2. The examiner stands on the side to be examined and loosely supports the patient’s leg between the arm and abdomen, allowing for tibial rotation to occur
  3. The examiner uses the forearm to exert a valgus pressure to the knee and uses the other hand to push the femur posteriorly
  4. The knee is brought into further flexion whilst the valgus pressure, tibial external rotation and posterior push on the femur are applied

Positive Outcome: The anterior drawer becomes apparent at 20°-30° of knee flexion. With further flexion the pivot-shift will occur indicated by the sudden reduction of the anterior subluxation of the tibial plateau
