Execution:
- Patient is in supine lying position
- The patient is asked to cross the test leg over the other leg above the knee with the ankle hanging freely
- The examiner then fixates the opposite ilium with one hand and pushes downward on the patient’s knee to move the hip further into abduction
Positive Outcome: Reproduction of the patient’s familiar groin pain

| Comment: Pain provocation during this test can also be indicative of a pathological SIJ, hip joint or iliopsoas spasm (see other sections). According to sutlive this test has a weak clinical value in the detection of hip OA. | |||||
