Backsaver Sit-and-Reach Test | Hamstring Length

Execution:

  1. Patient is in sitting position with one knee flexed against the chest to stabilize the pelvis and the knee on the side to be tested is completely extended
  2. The patient is then asked to reach forward towards the toes of the extended leg as far as possible
  3. The test is repeated on the other side

 

Positive Outcome: The patient is not able to reach the toes
