FADDIR (Flexion-Adduction-Internal Rotation) Test

Execution:

  1. Patient is in supine lying position with both legs extended and the examiner is standing on the side to be tested
  2. The examiner moves the patient’s hip into 90° of hip flexion and then adducts and internally rotates the hip maximally

 

Positive Outcome: Reproduction of the patient’s familiar groin pain, which might indicate hip impingement with or without labrum tears
