Pace Maneuver

Execution:

  1. Patient is in sitting position with the hips and knees flexed and the lower legs hanging off of the treatment table
  2. The examiner places the hands on the lateral aspects of the patient’s knees
  3. The patient is asked to push the examiner’s hands apart against resistance

Positive Outcome: Weakness, faltering and reproduction of pain on the affected side
