Execution:
- The patient is in supine lying position and the examiner gives traction at both feet to ensure they are in the same position
- While the examiner palpates the distal part of both malleoli, the patient is asked to flex the hips to about 45° and knees to 90° and to lift the buttock from the bench
- The examiner then passively extends the patient’s legs and brings both feet together while comparing the position of both malleoli with the thumbs
Positive Outcome: Different levels indicate asymmetry
