Medication Overuse Headache

Diagnostic criteria:

  1. Headache occurs on ≥15 days/month in a patient with pre-existing headache disorder
  2. Regular overuse for >3 months of ≥1 drugs that can be taken for acute and/or symptomatic treatment of headache
    • paracetamol/NSAIDs on ≥15 days/month
    • triptans and similar medication on ≥10 days/month
  3. Not better accounted for by another ICHD-3 diagnosis
