Execution:
- Patient is in standing or sitting position with the elbows flexed to 90° and the hands outstretched
- The examiner then applies an internal rotation force at the distal forearm and asks the patient to resist. The patient is instructed to only match the force of the examiner
- Afterwards, the examiner scratches or swipes his fingertips over the ulnar nerve at the elbow and immediately repeats step 2
Positive Outcome: Brief loss of the patient’s external rotation force is examined
