Ludington’s Test

Execution:

  1. Patient is in standing or sitting
  2. The patient is asked to place their hands on their head and to interlock the fingers so they support the weight of the arms
  3. The examiner places two fingers over each long biceps tendon and asks the patient to contract and relax both biceps simultaneously

Positive Outcome: In case of a rupture of the proximal long head of the biceps tendon, the contraction is not felt on the affected side compared to the unaffected side
