Stand Up Test | Posterolateral Rotatory Instability

Execution:

  1. The patient is seated on a chair with armrests
  2. The patient’s shoulders are abducted with the elbows flexed to 90°
  3. The patient’s hands are placed on the armrests so that the forearms are in a supinated position
  4. The patient is then asked to push himself up from the chair

 

Positive Outcome: Patient has apprehension, reports a sense of instability or lateral elbow pain or actual dislocation of the radial head takes place
