Execution:
- Patient is in a comfortable sitting position with the arm on the table, elbow extended (different from the video)
- The examiner fixates the forearm while palpating the lateral epicondyle with the thumb
- The examiner then pronates the patient’s forearm and puts the palmar side of their hand on the table
- The patient then extends the 3rd digit distal to the proximal interphalangeal joint against the examiner’s resistance
Positive Outcome: Sudden pain at the lateral epicondyle is reproduced which indicates involvement of the extensor digitorum longus
