Supination Pronation Test

Execution:

  1. Patient is standing or sitting with the shoulder abducted to 90°
  2. The patient flexes the elbows to 70° and is asked to pro- and supinate the forearms
  3. The examiner observes for distal movement of the biceps during pronation and proximal movement during supination

 

Positive Outcome: Migration of the biceps during pro- and supination is absent (compare to the other side)
