Biceps Squeeze Test

Execution:

  1. Patient is sitting on the treatment table with the examiner standing on the affected side
  2. The patient’s forearm is resting on his thighs with the elbow flexed to 60-80° to minimize tension in the brachialis to isolate the biceps to forearm supination
  3. The examiner slightly pronates the forearm to place tension on the biceps tendon
  4. The examiner grasps the patient’s biceps with both hands placed on the distal myotendinous junction and on the muscle belly and squeezes them firmly

Positive Outcome: Forearm supination upon squeezing the muscle belly and myotendinous junction of the biceps cannot be observed
