Triple Compression Stress Test

Execution:

  1. Patient is in supine-lying position
  2. The examiner maximally plantar flexes the patient’s foot and brings it into maximal inversion
  3. Then, the examiner compresses the tibial nerve in the tarsal tunnel behind the medial malleolus for 30s

 

Positive Outcome: Numbness, paresthesia or pain in the toe, ball of the foot or the heel
