Execution (for the right SIJ):
- The patient lies in prone position
- The examiner places the hypothenar of the left hand on the patient’s SIJ in the quadrants 2 and 4 (see above) with the fingers facing caudally
- With the right hand, the examiner grabs onto the ilium and pulls dorsomedially, while the other hand exerts pressure on the sacrum to prevent movement
Positive Outcome: The test is positive for a hypomobile SIJ if the examiner cannot feel any joint play compared to the other side
