Standing Flexion / Vorlauf / Standing-Bent Over Test

Execution:

  1. The patient is in standing position and the examiner palpates the patient’s posterior superior iliac spines (PSIS)
  2. Then, the patient is asked to bent forward towards the midline, while the examiner palpates the movement of the PSIS

Positive Outcome: The test is positive if one PSIS moves earlier (before 60° of forward flexion) and thus travels higher upward than the other due to hypomobility on that side

Comment: Levangie et al. Compared the associtation of a positive test result with the presence of static innominate torsion. Riddle et al. Show that this test has a low reliability.
