Position of the therapist:
- Standing lateral and caudal to the knee to be treated
Position of the patient:
- Supine lying position
- Feet hanging off the bench
- Leg in internal rotation
- Foot dorsiflexed and in eversion (to create pre-tension at the proximal tibiofibular joint in ventral direction)
Hand placement:
- Contralateral hand in a fist and thenar eminence placed under the patient’s fibular head
- Ipsilateral hand placed on the proximal tibia
Direction of the manipulation:
- Dorsal via the tibia
