Bowstring Test / Cram Test / Posterior Tibial Nerve Sign | Radicular Pain

Execution:

  1. Patient is in supine lying position
  2. The examiner performs a passive Straight Leg Raise test until symptoms occur
  3. The examiner then flexes the knee to approximately 20°, which should reduce symptoms
  4. At last the examiner applies pressure to the tibial nerve in the popliteal fossa

Positive Outcome: Symptoms like shooting pain down the leg are reproduced upon pressure on the tibial nerve
