Neck Tornado Test | Cervical Radicular Syndrome

Execution:

  1. The patient is in sitting position and the patient’s position is stabilized by the examiner with one hand on the patient’s shoulder
  2. The examiner is standing behind the patient and applies light pressure to the patient’s vertex
  3. With constant pressure the examiner rotates the patient’s head 180° towards the patient’s affected side from maximal neck flexion, followed by lateral flexion to maximal extension

 

Positive Outcome: The patient’s radicular pain or tingling is reproduced or aggravated in the ipsilateral shoulder or upper extremity
