Execution:
- Patient is in sitting position with his leg hanging off the treatment table
- The examiner grasps the patient’s calcaneus from posterolaterally and applies pressure with his thumb on the anterolateral part of the talocrural joint
- Consequently, the examiner moves the patient’s ankle into forced maximal dorsiflexion with his other hand
Positive Outcome: Reproduction of the patient’s familiar pain or if the pain elicited by applying pressure with the thumb is increased
