Execution:
- Patient is in supine lying position
- The examiner cups the patient’s foot at the heel and completely flexes the patient’s knee
- The examiner then moves the patient’s heel distally which leads to passive extension of the knee
Positive Outcome: Incomplete extension and/or a a rubbery end-feel with joint line pain can indicate a meniscus tear.
Hard end-feels might indicate intra-articular fragments such as loose bodies.
