Execution:
- The patient is in sitting position
- The shoulder is abducted and arm supported so that the forearm can hang freely and in a relaxed manner
- The examiner swings the reflex hammer with a loose wrist and hits the triceps tendon proximal to the olecranon
Positive Outcome: Diminished reflex activity compared to the other side, which indicates a lower motor neuron lesion
