Trapezius Pars Transversus Strength Test

Execution:

  1. The patient lies in prone position
  2. The patient’s shoulder is abducted to 90°, laterally rotated and the elbow flexed to 90°
  3. The patient is asked to horizontally abduct the arm while the examiner gives resistance

 

Positive Outcome: Weakness compared to the other side and/or muscle atrophy observed upon contraction
