Syndesmosis Ligaments Tenderness

Execution:

  1. The examiner first palpates the anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament and then moves more proximal to palpate the interosseus ligament/membrane
  2. Then the examiner palpates the transverse ligament posteriorly between the tibia and the fibula and moves a little more proximal to palpate the posterior tibiofibular ligament

 

Positive Outcome: Tenderness or pain upon palpation
